Your info is not correct. Where did you get it from? Berlin – Prague is exactly 5 hours by the direct EC trains (five times a day) Berlin Dresden is 1h58 by the fasted train, and Dresden prague 2h52… So it all adds up nicely… Greetings, Krist — Krist Bern, Switzerland mailme<at>kri<dot>st

(Change my topic again. Too many questions in planning stage…) (Here we are talking about Prague:) Thanks, Ivan! Actually, I checked the FAQ couple times in the past but forget the lodging information page. :) I need to dive in there for a while… One confusion I have is about the description I saw from a lot of different resources: "10 minutes from city center…" Is it 10 minutes walk? We plan to watch the Black theater and Pinocchio at night. After that, I think it would be good to go back to where I live simply by walking. Anyone has been there recently? Do you have any successfully lodging recommendation and experiences? (Of course, I will check the FAQ later. Promise.) (Here apply to all the destination we plan to stay) Like what I said before, we are going to spend 2 weeks in that area. We plan to make all the reservations beforehand so we can enjoy our trip and don’t have to worry about where to live tomorrow. Someone told me that he has an unpleasant experience with one of the B&B in that area, which promised him to pick him up at the train station but never showed up. And I hate to have that kind of things happen in the middle of the trip. If you can recommend me some trustworthy B&B or private apartment, I would really appreciate. :) Or, put it another way, any information is welcome! What we are looking for: 1. For 2 people (My husband and me) 2. Walking distance from city center, or from where there are more shows and concerts (Bars and clubs are not required. We are not clubbing people. :) ) 3. Clean 4. Hi, I plan to take train from Berlin to Prague via Dresden in early September. However, I am a little confused. According to what I’ve checked, it takes about 6 hours from Berlin to Prague. However, from Berlin to Dresden is about 2 hours and from Dresden to Prague is about 2.5 hours. How could it be? I supposed it will take longer if I stop by Dresden. And, for this type of train, do I need to make reservation couple weeks ahead or just purchase it the day before? Same question for the accommendation in that area (Berlin, Prague, Budapest). I found out that a lot of people don’t book the hotel/pension before they go. Which do you recommend? To researve or not? I heard that it is much expensive to book hotel from the internet. If I choose to researve before I go, how do I get a room in a reasonable price? Thanks! :)
