We paid ‘em a little but not much.  Small town, small business, they’ve done lots of good work for us before, that kind of thing. >Congrats on the other news.  Good to see you posting again.

Thanks, and thanks.  Since we’ve heard nothing from my employer, I am now sweating whether or not they are planning to appeal.  It’s my nature, I guess, to worry about everything, whether or not it needs to be worried about.  Too Jewish for my own good . . . mary

Indeed you should, because indeed they do.  And if you paid *any* money to that "shop," they owe you a refund. Congrats on the other news.  Good to see you posting again. — The Armadillo

Mary, Glad you are back!!! Believe me, there are many more reasons NOT to buy a Compaq then the one you mention!!  I have one (thankfully I use it only when I have problems with my Gateway, which isn’t often….it is in the shop now getting an upgrade….), and it is horrible.  Compaq could care less…in fact, when searching for information on Gateway, I came across this little diddy ;o)…….maybe you can relate? ;o)….http://www.mexia.com/centxweb/compaq.htm….wait until you see the title to the page! I am so happy to hear that you won your suit!  You don’t need to feel bad at all for taking them to court.  THEY should feel bad for putting you through this! Good luck with your new doc.  I too had to find a new PCP, and let me tell you, he is a gem.  My GI referred me to him.  The PCP is much like my GI, so that is probably why I like him so much. Good luck! Robin I am *not* a Medical Doctor (MD) or *any* other type of Medical Professional. Hi, kids, I finally got my computer back . . . It took 3 weeks in the shop trying to install a new (bigger) hard drive, until Rick finally called Compaq and found out that they purposely make their notebook computers un-upgrade-able.  Something to keep in mind when we decide to replace this one, indeed. In the meantime . . . I WON!!!  I won my breach-of-contract lawsuit against my former employer for not paying me LTD benefits.  They have to pay ~ 2 years’ worth of back benefits, which will be a nice chunk of change, plus pay me every month until retirement age.  My lawyer gets a good share of the back benefit amount, but he earned every cent.  And I know I couldn’t have done it without him. I still feel slimy for having to go to court against my employer of 25 years, but that’s the way things go in the Real World I guess. Also, I think we’ve found a new PCP.  We went to seee a family practice doc who went to medical school a little later, after her kids were in school.  So she’s just starting out but she’s mature, which is kind of a nice combination. We both liked her, but what did it for me was that she called me herself the next day for some information, rather than having someone else do it.  The office staff, however, is another story and I do hope we don’t end up with problems.  I am spoiled by my previous doctor’s staff, though, and I have to break in a new group all over again! The hunt for the new doctor was ultimately easier than I thought — we got a recommendation from our dermatologist, who is also a friend.  Many doctors suggested by other people either didn’t take our insurance, weren’t taking new patients (one guy will see new patients in late May!) or some other such.  One guy schedules pts. every 10 min. and doesn’t run late.  That told me to keep looking . . . We’ll just have to see how things work out, but we’re hopeful. Missed y’all . . . mary
