Question:
I have a friend who is working overseas (Sri-Lanka) and has found that several local lads want to set up a tattoo facility. Does anyone know the present laws etc over there please (age of person wanting to be tattoed, forbidden areas etc). Any info would be helpful. I am trying to find some info out for him before he goes back. I am already aware of most of the health issues (though always keen to hear of any new thoughts / concerns). Doesn’t anyone use the phone anymore? Let’s see: Government agency, or people who could be total idiots. I think I’ll chance the total idiots. Here’s a novel idea. Why don’t YOU do the research, and then fill us in on the details. I’ll take tattoo laws in Cuba for 400, please. Kavin

Does the Sri Lankan gov’t have a Web site containing either listings of their laws or email addresses of officials who might know the law? Are there tattoo shops over there already? Do they have an association that might have already researched the relevant laws? Again, much might be findable by searching the Web. Yes, you can also telephone (as someone else has suggested).
