Question:
First of all, I want to preface this with how incredibly I was shocked to find TWO copies at my local video store. (I live outside of a town of 2K people, and drive 20 minutes to the video store) Unfortunately I haven’t watched the whole thang because my youngest is sick and spent most of yesterday on my lap, so I only watched when she was snoring. ANYHOO, what a neat film! Bob Flanagan singing "Supermasochistic Bob" (to the tune of supercalifragilisticexpialidotious <sp?>) started things up, and it ended with him singing it’s fun being dead… I was squirming and yelping "ew" as he unnailed his cock head from the board and sprayed blood all over the glass table under which was the camera (and I used to be into blood play! yikes, the country’s turning me vanilla!). I laughed out loud at Sara from Toronto whose wish of meeting Bob Flanagan came true- and I waved at the screen as Crystal pierced her a year later. Primeval Studios got a thanks in the credits… (woohoo- on topic!) Neat movie. I couldn’t agree more. Yttrx forced me to watch it a few months ago (despite the fact that I was in a more Latcho Drom mood that day) and it was many times cooler than Jesux. Definitely depressing in places, but overall thought provoking, riveting, and all those other buzzwords movie critics use. |+/-1 — "If I didn’t like victims I wouldn’t have so many in my basement." – LadyJ *Amputate the ‘pinkies’ to respond.*

I can’t agree more, its a fantastic film. I’d recommend showing it to people who ‘just don’t get’ masochism etc because it shows it in a very enlightening and sensitive way (as opposed to making a real spectacle of it). Possibly as its available in america, it will be released in the UK soon *fingers crossed*. There were soundclips from the film and some of his poems on the website, but its changed now and made my computer crash before i could look at it properly
everyone go and see it NOW.

Tower Records & Video carried Nekromantic I & II, they might actually carry this movie. –Michele

definitely a great one
we got lucky and got to see it in a theater a while back — a Philly art house was showing it, for about 3 screenings, and i got to go with a few friends. that scene where his cock bleeds all over the screen was really amazing when it was that much bigger than life *grin*. (to my boyfriend’s credit, he didn’t even flinch!) now they have it at the local video store and one of my friend is thinking of showing it for a meeting of the campus BDSM group. whee! we’ll have to make popcorn. Chances are blockbuster won’t carry it. But I was freaked to find it at VideoZone (a mostly Quebec chain) == Denise Robinson http://www.ambient.on.ca http://www.vankleek.net == "Ultimately, compassion is cheap, why is it so hard to give a little, even if in thought alone." —Chumley 5/99 "Call it overactive drive for survival, but I personally find weakness downright repulsive." —Baital 5/99

you’re right. blockbuster will never carry it. unfortunately. you know, just because i work there, doesn’t mean that i agree with all of their policies. i don’t particularly care to pay for movies, so i hate having to go somewhere else to rent. other titles that blockbuster doesn’t carry: orgazmo happiness kids eraserhead and anything else rated X or NC-17 ::sigh:: david StickNeedlesInMe at aol dot com Nothing really matters, love is all we need. You could go work somewhere else you know…like maybe at one of the video stores that you *do* like? Just a though…:) > orgazmo > happiness > kids > eraserhead > and anything else rated X or NC-17

thanks, but i’m really getting into being a manager with benefits. i’d hate to start on the bottom somewhere else, even if it were only for a short time. >Really? I thought they just edited out the nips.
there are some movies, of which, blockbuster will carry the "rated" versions. which means that a lot of the good parts aren’t shown. blockbuster doesn’t edit these themselves; the studios put out two different versions to please everyone. that’s why at all other video stores, you’ll see the rated X version of "last tango in paris", and at BBV you’ll see the rated R version. david StickNeedlesInMe at aol dot com Nothing really matters, love is all we need. LOL! I’m with you on that one. Unless they’ve totally changed their policies in the past 3 years you have to sign an agreement not to work for a competitor for a year or two after you leave. Not that it would necessarily stop you… Michelle – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text ->p0ok

They wont chase you. Simply tell the cool video store where you want to work that youre coming from blockbuster and that it would be best if they didnt ask for work references from them–I think that most cool video stores would understand, and very much appreciate getting a refugee from starbux…erm…blockbuster. p0ok — "Get my balls too, momma" —crackers

oh, yeah. but that doesn’t really apply to me. 8P Guys can have one earring per LOBE. it used to be per ear. and that was great cos i could take out my lobe piercings and leave in my cartilage rings. but then they went and tampered with the policy. luckily, my cartilage piercings are healed enough that i can leave them out for eight or fifteen hours and not worry about it! david StickNeedlesInMe at aol dot com Quid agas, cum dira et foedior omni crimine persona est? -Juvenal, Satire 4

actually, you have to wear your hair in a "ponytail" if it’s long enough to do that. a few years ago, my hair was long enough that i could put it up in pigtails. i did that once with little purple ribbons (like what you would wrap presents with–not bows), and went to the mall. i wonder what BBV would think of that? david StickNeedlesInMe at aol dot com Quid agas, cum dira et foedior omni crimine persona est? -Juvenal, Satire 4
