Freedom found in Justification
Question:
The deal between man and God is a covenant, not a contract. The distinction is very important. In a contract, man’s actions would break the contract, with no need for God to fulfill His promises. In a covenant, God guarantees both sides, so, despite our failures, God is still faithful. Blood is always shed in a covenant, and God guarantees it, even if you fail. Abraham slept while God sealed both sides of His covenant with him. If it were a contract, our failure to deliver means that God has the right to tear up the contract. It is a very good thing it is a covenant … indeed. — Gregory A. Response:
Being saved is like a contract between God the Father and us sealed with the blood of Jesus. Reader, I want to share with you about a recent discovery of mine about the Jewish court system and assurance we can have in Jesus. Once a person is saved , a legal contract is drawn up in heaven between us and the Father, stamped with the blood of Jesus. Now no one can tear that contract up. No angel, Satan or anyone else. It is a binding Conract between the sinner and God the Father. Not even God can tear it up! Thats right, not even God because that would go against everything He stands for. Only the saved sinner can tear the contract up. Its a legal contract, likened to a marriage ceremony. And water baptism is an extension of this. And in the Jewish court system, unlike the English court system we use today, there was only ever 3 people in the court. The accused, accuser and Judge who was also the representative or advocate of the accused. So if we compare this with the heavenly court, we would have the accused [You], the accuser [Satan] and the solicitor/representative/advocate and Judge of the accused [Jesus]. And the Good News is that those who are "in Christ" will not be condemened. Romans 8:1 [There is] therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. And the exact opposite legal term for condemnation is justification. And we are freely justified [As if I had never sinned] through faith alone in Jesus. Romans 5:1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, So Jesus as our Judge and Advocate, that is GOOD NEWS as we can’t lose the court case and have passed thgrough the judgment in the sence that we are declared not guilty, freed from blame. NKJV John 5:22 "For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son, NKJV John 5:24 " Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. This contract aspect gives a Christian wonderful assurance in Jesus. With Warm Christian Love, Tony Valentino http://www.eternaljoy.org
